The detention of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, at Newark International Liberty Airport on a British Airways flight created quite a buzz in the bollywood circle and Indian political front with mixed reactions, as the actor went through an unnecessary turmoil and that too when he was heading for a show with regard to Indian Independence Day celebration at the US soil.

Though the beloved actor felt humiliated by the entire episode he was quite perturbed but ruled out seeking an apology for the incident which was denied by US officials.

The bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan underwent an enquiry at the hands of the immigration officials as the said airport had red alerted his surname. It took more than an hour in the whole process where Khan was not even allowed to use his cell phone to contact the local organizers of the event.

Well, it is known that in the backdrop of 9/11, the US rules and regulatory activities especially at the international airports has been made quite firm, but what fell to every one’s dismay is that a celebrity of Shahrukh Khan’s repute has to undergo all this who is  a prominent Bollywood figure, as well as a film producer and television host who has been named one of the 50 most powerful people in the world by ‘Newsweek’ in 2008, an American weekly news magazine published in New York City which is a second largest news weekly magazine in the U.S and owned by The Washington Post Company.

The 43-year-old star was spotted wearing tattered jeans with a white T-shirt, a brownish coat and a muffler and drove straight to the venue of the function at the luxury Trump Taj Mahal hotel in Atlantic City where he liberally apologized before his Indian-American fans for arriving two hours late at the function after the whole drama at the airport.

Shahrukh almost stunned his audience at the function when he said that he does not feel like stepping on the American soil any more, but it is the love and affection of millions of his fans in the US which would bring him to this country again and again.

Hmm, it was really hard to digest that a public figure like shahrukh who could be easily googled to seek information about him over wiki or through images available therein had to face such a thing.
